Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Development Lead to lead the design, development, testing, and execution of large-scale data migration solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in AWS data services, Python, SQL, and PySpark, along with proven experience leading migration workstreams and production cutovers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data migration design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT and data migration frameworks using AWS services.
• Develop high-volume migration pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, DMS, Redshift, RDS, and Aurora .
• Design data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, loading, and reconciliation processes.
• Implement automated data quality, audit, reconciliation, and monitoring controls.
• Lead mock migrations, testing cycles, production cutovers, and post-migration validation.
• Develop migration runbooks, restart/recovery procedures, rollback strategies, and operational controls.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK .
• Perform code reviews and technical design reviews while mentoring migration developers.
• Troubleshoot data, performance, integration, and migration issues.
• Collaborate with architects, application teams, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful migration outcomes.
• Ensure migration solutions are scalable, reusable, auditable, and operationally efficient.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT, or data migration.
• 3+ years of experience leading technical teams or data migration workstreams.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data and migration services .
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark .
• Experience with AWS Glue, DMS, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, RDS/Aurora .
• Proven experience with large-scale production data migrations.
• Strong knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, validation, and audit processes.
• Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK .
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing reusable migration frameworks and accelerators.
• Experience with complex database-to-database or legacy-to-cloud migrations.
• Knowledge of migration automation, monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Experience managing production cutover and rollback activities.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
