Field Services Engineer

Entegee Engineering is actively seeking a Field Service Engineer for a direct hire, permanent position based in Indianapolis, IN. This role is responsible for reviewing installations, overseeing machine assembly/startup, and providing maintenance and repair support for industrial equipment. Job Responsibilities Conduct pre-installation reviews with customers to confirm installation requirements and processes prior to shipment Oversee machine installation and assembly at customer facilities Inspect, adjust, and start up newly installed machines; verify specification compliance and recommend corrective actions as needed Demonstrate safe setup, operation, and maintenance procedures during commissioning and handoff Provide warranty and non-warranty service including problem identification, preventive maintenance, repairs, and on‑site training as required Recommend parts, accessories, and labor to maintain equipment safety and improve operational efficiency Perform regular customer site visits to observe machine operation, identify service needs, and recommend appropriate products and services Support local distributors by providing technical guidance and coordinating service delivery to customers Complete required documentation (service, inspection, time, and expense reports) accurately and within required timeframes Provide remote technical support to distributors, customers, and other field service engineers via phone and email from the office location listed in the role description Job Requirements 2+ years of technical school or equivalent work experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems maintenance and repair Knowledge of troubleshooting and maintenance for industrial automation equipment Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical/mechanical prints, and blueprints Ability to complete service reports, inspection reports, time reports, and expense reports per established procedures Ability to provide on‑site service at customer facilities and support remote troubleshooting via phone/email Preferred Skills Experience installing, commissioning, and starting up CNC or industrial machine tools Experience performing warranty and non‑warranty service in a field environment Experience training operators and maintenance personnel on safe operation and upkeep Familiarity with distributor/service channel support models Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefits Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short‑term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
