Below Chatsworth are the "Plains," unique in eastern geography, a great mass of land covered with bush-like growth of scrub-oak, pine, and laurel.The Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix (FCI Fort Dix) is a low-security United States federal prison for male offenders in New Jersey. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. A satellite prison camp houses minimum-security male inmates. FCI Fort Dix is located in Burlington County on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. It is approximately 40 miles from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fort Dix is the largest single federal prison in the United States by number of inmates.Requirements (Duties include but are not limited)The LPN shall be responsible for providing a range of standard patient care under the guidance of physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, paramedics, and other allied health staff within the Primary Care Provider Team (PCPT). Duties will be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the LPN's field of expertise. Such duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform direct patient care services, treatments and procedures as directed by the PCPT.Triage inmate medical complaints during sick call utilizing established protocols.Provide first aid and assist with emergency medical care to inmates as needed including cardiopulmonary resuscitation.Collect patient vital signs including body temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, height, weight, and pain level. Report significant abnormalities to the PCPT.Interview patients to obtain health history. Record/document findings of patient care activities on appropriate records.Complete written or electronic medical record documentation in an accurate, well-organized, legible, and timely manner.Review clinical records to ensure data is accurate and recorded in the appropriate section of the medical record.Assist the PCPT in the management and oversight of chronic care clinics.Operate unit specific equipment in a competent and efficient manner. Assist with daily equipment checks.Administer and document medications accurately according to policy/procedure and physician orders. Administer immunizations and tuberculin skin testing as ordered.Ensure all sharps are accounted for, stored and disposed of according to institutional and national policy.Recognize and report adverse drug reactions and side effects to the PCPT.Perform wound care and dressing changes.Perform diagnostic tests including but not limited to peak flow, 12-lead EKG, blood glucose level, and fecal occult blood testing.Perform venipuncture, draw blood for lab testing, and administer intravenous fluids.Transcribe consultation reports and scan documents into the electronic medical record.Communicate with outside medical facilities as needed.Assist with administrative duties including but not limited to medical trip packets, Utilization Review Committee meeting minutes, and patient scheduling.Provide counseling and patient education to inmates.Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.Apply aseptic technique and infection controlQualificationsMust have graduated from an accredited school or training program for Licensed Practical Nursing or Licensed Vocational Nursing.Must be registered/licensed to practice as an LPN/LVN in any state in the United States.One (1) year of experience as an LPN/LVN is preferred, but not required.One (1) year of experience in a correctional environment is preferred, but not required.Must be CPR or BLS certified.KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
