CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CVOR Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. As a CVOR RN, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. This position requires both proficiency in technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Circulate during surgeries and assist in the management of patients in the cardiovascular operating room.
• Demonstrate expertise in heart and lung transplant procedures, valve replacements, and aortic dissections.
• Prepare and manage pump lines from perfusionists for cannulation.
• Contribute to a well-rounded surgical team by being available to float to other units as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Indiana or a Compact license.
• Experience in operating rooms, particularly within a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Core competency level of 3s and 4s in CV, PV, Heart, and Lung Transplant.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
• Prior experience as a traveler is accepted if previous Level 1 Trauma experience is present.

Shift Details

• Weekday shifts - 4x10s.
• Availability to take call during CV cases and holidays, with a requirement of 90-120 hours of call over a six-week period.

Additional Information

The average daily census in the operating room is approximately 70-80 patients, with 24 surgical rooms available. Candidates should be prepared for a variety of procedures and demonstrate flexibility in their roles within the unit.
