Location:Cancer and Blood Specialists of GeorgiaPay Range:$24.83 - $46.12We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Registered Nurse to serve as a critical point of contact for patients, caregivers, home health agencies, and healthcare providers. In this role, you will utilize your oncology nursing expertise to assess patient concerns, prioritize urgent needs, coordinate care, and provide timely clinical guidance while collaborating closely with physicians and advanced practice providers.This is an onsite position.We are excited to welcome new team members with a $5,000 sign-on bonus!For the last 20 years, Cancer and Blood Specialists of Georgia, a community-based medical oncology and hematology practice, has provided treatment for patients diagnosed with all types of cancer and blood disorders in the John's Creek and surrounding Atlanta area. Consults with Head Nurse and/or physician to present patient’s problem and resolve the problem or direct calls to appropriate person.Primary Key Performance Areas:Answers phone calls from patients and home health agencies, using nursing assessment skills to determine the nature of each call, its urgency, how to resolve the question/problem an to whom to direct the call.Keep daily log of incoming calls and chart decision made regarding the calls.Pull patient’s chart to accompany message for nurses and doctor.Be able to discuss with physician and/or nurse practitioner the steps necessary to insure proper patient care.Be able to discuss with the physician any abnormal labs or tests presented to them by other staff members so that appropriate action regarding further orders can be carried out and charted, if necessary.Responsible for hospice and home health agency questions regarding patients and documenting the physician’s decision regarding the request.Contact emergency room when a patient is directed there, give explanation, diagnosis, and a phone number where physician can be contacted.Handle prescription refill requests according to Company procedure.Will be expected to work at any Company location to help meet Company’s business needs. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.Job Qualifications and Requirements:Education:Nursing DegreeCertifications/Licenses:RN License in state of employmentCurrent CPR and BLS certificationsValid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as neededPrevious Experience (including minimum years of experience):Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital settingCore Capabilities:Analysis & Critical Thinking: Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills. Second language is an asset but not required.
