Clinical Manager - RN - Hospice

Clinical Manager Registered Nurse (Full‑Time, Columbus Office/Hybrid) The Clinical Manager reports to the Administrator and assists in the direction and coordination of all activities of the Agency, including patient care services and personnel. The Clinical Manager may act on behalf of the Administrator in their absence, is readily available during hours of operation, and has primary responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing and other skilled clinical services through systematic assessment of caseload and optimum utilization of personnel. This is an exempt position. Benefits Competitive compensation, including Medical (BCBS), Dental, Vision and an HSA Continued growth and education from training, supportive leadership, and collaboration Generous PTO, holiday and sick pay A company‑provided tablet with 24/7/365 IT support Tuition reimbursement up to $2,500 per year Pet insurance Company Culture What makes you different makes us great You are part of a team Your unique experiences and perspectives inspire others A 1440 culture – we strive to use all 1,440 minutes in each day to create the absolute best experiences with every person, in every interaction Qualifications Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio with at least 2 years of experience in hospice care CPR certification preferred but not required Current driver’s license with reliable transportation and automobile insurance Current TB, chest X‑ray, or skin test (within last 12 months) Ability to deal effectively with stress Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices Self‑directed with the ability to work with little supervision Avid team player Consistently maintains a positive attitude that promotes team and optimal performance Responsibilities Accountable for identifying comprehensive needs and recommending appropriate changes in staffing, budgets, policies, or programs Maintain accurate record systems, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend modifications Make patient and personnel assignments, coordinate patient care, and assure continuous assessment of patient needs Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care Participate in development of personnel policies and procedures that attract, retain, and motivate staff Promote effective communication throughout the Agency Enhance professional expertise through education and organizational activities Participate in short‑ and long‑range planning based on Agency goals and objectives Direct activities and evaluate effectiveness Report cases of possible abuse, neglect, fraud, non‑compliance, and exploitation to the Compliance Officer, Administrator or designee immediately Act as on‑call Clinical Manager and, when needed, perform duties of the staff/case manager nursing job, visiting patients as required Alternate for the Administrator in absence, performing other duties as assigned Assist the Administrator in selection, orientation, direction, and evaluation of new hires Coordinate with scheduler to ensure visits are distributed equitably among field staff and that coverage meets required frequency Communicate with clients and families regarding issues and complaints involving field staff Co‑ordinate with accounting to ensure accurate, efficient billing per agency policy and regulation Ensure timely locking of HIS data, accuracy, and compliance with CMS transmission requirements Maintain a clean, neat working area and ensure patient records are reviewed and completed on time Supervise HHA, LPN, RNCM, SW, SC, and other ancillary hospice workers Attend and participate in staff education and agency committee meetings as appropriate Maintain OSHA and infection control standards General Working Conditions This position involves standing for long periods of time. Employees must communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle keyboards, telephones, paper, files, and other equipment. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional travel to different locations may be required. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others and has a moderate noise level.
