As an employer, we seek to provide an environment of growth and development for our employees that is consistent with recognizing the rights, needs, and wants of all people.Purpose:To provide medical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to maintain optimal health and wellbeing.Qualifications:Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug ScreeningsMust possess a valid Driver's License with all necessary endorsements and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experienceMust possess basic computer skillsMust possess current and valid license for Practical NurseExperience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferredEssential Functions:Assists in providing basic healthcare services according to the individual’s plan ensuring each individual’s optimal health and wellbeingFollows all nursing protocols as outlined in the Sunrise nursing manual and Connecticut nursing protocols.Performs tasks as delegated, such as blood pressure monitoring, weights, and other assigned tasksEnsures all documentation is accurate and complete according to regulationsResponsible for the organization and cleanliness of supplies and equipment, ensuring restocking of inventoryCollaborates with Direct Support Professionals to ensure that the needs of the individuals are being metCommunicates immediately any changes in medical or behavioral status to supervisorProficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of adults and children receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology.Performs all other duties as assignedHourly: $32.00SR96HTThis position will remain open until filled.
