- Administer respiratory care treatments, including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and pulmonary function testing.
- Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, making necessary adjustments to care plans as required.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory therapy techniques, disease management, and equipment usage.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and pulmonary function tests.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and infection control standards.
- Provide emergency care and support during critical respiratory events, including code blue situations.
- Required: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Illinois.
- Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
- Experience: Experience in acute care or hospital settings preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of respiratory care equipment, therapies, and procedures.
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to react quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate and support patients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.
