Travel Compliance: RTO - should not exceed 7 days and MUST be submitted with profile; if not submitted in profile, it will not be approved. However, ICU will not approve more than 4 days off in a row and EDOSC OR will not allow for any time off. Travelers must work every other holiday but prefer 2/3 holidays or Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and NYE. No RTO within the first two weeks of assignment start date. # of jobs in system we can sub - Can submit to any number of open jobs; we send to one unit at a time so that the units do not fight over candidates Requires Specific Amounts of Exp - 2 Years of Experience required to submit Valid State License - Must have CA license on hand at the time of submittal Mile Radius Rule - Perm address must be 50 miles from the facility Reference Required - 2 references are not required for submittal, but 1 is required Local Rules - No local travelers are allowed; travelers permeant address must be over 50 miles from the facility Candidates may float within hospital - Yes. Traveler is expected to float within skill set Charting Exp Required - Epic computer charting is preferred but not required Background Policy - Background Checks: DUIs are generally allowed as long as there is not a pattern of them Return Staff Rules - Former Eisenhower Medical Center employees must have been gone for 2 or more years to be able to return as a traveler. Scheduling Requests - Candidate should be flexible with scheduling, and any out of norm requests should be submitted with profile *Block scheduling is rarely granted. Extensions: Only one extension is allowed and then the traveler must take the length of the original contract and extension combined off before being able to return to EMC as a traveler again. So, if they work a 13 week contract and then do one 13 week extension then the traveler must take 26 week off before they can return back to them as a traveler again. Inpatient call of/on call policy: Travelers may be called off OR placed on call once per pay period. If placed on call there is a 60 minute call back requirement. Modules: Modules are billable, any modules assigned and completed during traveler's contracts are not billable 10 hours of modules required for the following Inpatient specialties: ICU RN, CVICU RN, MS/TELE RN, PCU RN, Dialysis RN, ER RN, NICU RN, L&D RN, Wound Care RN, Cath Lab RN, RRT, Case Manager, Infusion, LVN/LPM 8 hours of modules required for Surgical RNs: PreOp RN, PACU RN, Pain Management RN, OR RN, ENDO RN 6 hours of modules required for Allied specialties: OR Tech, GI Lab Tech, ENDO Tech, SPT, Anesthesia Tech, EP Tech, Cath Lab Tech, CVT, Scrub Tech, Radiology Tech Modules are completed pre-start and annually, and vary by specialty Modules are recorded via transcripts
