Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

JOB SUMMARY:

An APRN is a crucial part of the healthcare team. APRNs are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who bring a unique blend of clinical expertise and compassionate care to various medical settings. Whether working independently or collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, APRNs are equipped with advanced training and education that enables them to provide a wide range of healthcare services. These include diagnosing and treating medical conditions, prescribing medications, and promoting overall wellness through patient education and preventive care.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe medications and treatments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Manage overall patient care while devising individualized care plans.
• Educate and counsel patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
• Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in a timely manner.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing required.
• Specialty certification in area of practice (e.g., Nephrology).
• Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Proficiency in performing clinical procedures.
• Strong understanding of healthcare laws and ethics
• Ability to manage complex patient cases
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• A current, or be eligible for, DEA license.
• BLS Certified (ACLS Optional).
