Vehicle Mechanical Engineer (M.S./Ph.D.)

Vehicle Mechanical Engineer (M.S./Ph.D.) We are looking for a Vehicle Mechanical Engineer with a strong foundation in automotive engineering to join our Vehicle Engineering Practice and Test Engineering Center in Phoenix, AZ. In this role you will support accident reconstruction and testing, perform technical analyses of transportation accidents, drive fieldwork and laboratory evaluations, and prepare technical reports and presentations. Responsibilities Accident reconstruction Technical analysis of transportation accidents involving heavy trucks and passenger vehicles Fieldwork including inspections of accident sites and vehicles Field and laboratory evaluations including full-scale vehicle and component testing Preparing written technical reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences Qualifications M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field P.E. license or willingness to obtain a P.E. license Currently legally authorized to work in the United States Advanced knowledge of dynamics and mechanical design experience in vehicle dynamics and/or crashworthiness preferred Interest in automotive systems such as vehicle communication networks, chassis systems, or Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) Attention to detail and dedication to quality and accuracy Experience with CAD software, and analytical and simulation tools desired Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Clear written communication and technical writing skills Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to synthesize and present technical information Equal Opportunity Employment Exponent is a proud equal opportunity employer.
