We are seeking world-class technical solutions engineers (TSE) to come join our team, to help support our products and solutions. A TSE at Arista is equivalent to a Tier 3 TAC or Escalation Engineer in most support organizations. We drive the success of our customers through passion and teamwork and via ensuring quick response times. You will work with a diverse, multicultural team of top-notch engineers who act as our customers’ champions. You will also work closely with members of software/hardware engineering, product management, customer engineering and sales teams. The team culture is one of collaboration among highly technical individuals, as we work as One Team to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction.What You’ll DoThe ideal candidate possesses the ability to troubleshoot complex and dynamic Hyperscaler customer environments, including networks built to support AI and accelerated computing workloads, while balancing the communications needs of each case. A strong analytical mind is required, as is the ability to triage. As we are continually releasing new features and products, a high aptitude for both learning and teaching are required. Our engineers work closely with other members of Customer Engineering as well as both Software and Hardware development—both in diagnosing problems as well as communicating them in multiple technical contexts. Thus, excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is a collaborative approach.ResponsibilitiesResolve customer concerns raised during installation, operation, maintenance of Arista productsInvestigate complex hardware and software network issues, collaborating with sales, account teams, and development teams, to provide post-call summaries including root cause and next step solutions.Document customer communication and recurring technical issues to support product quality and product development programs.QualificationsWorking knowledge of networking industry, products, and protocolsWorking knowledge or experience with data centers powering Artificial Intelligence is highly desiredPreferred minimum of 3-5 years hands-on experience and a combination of the following; designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, debugging and administering the following network protocols and technologies:L1 and L2 Technologies including:Auto-negotiation including FEC, L1 debugging, VLAN, LACP, LLDP, STP/RSTP/MST, MACSecL3 TechnologiesARP, Core Routing (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS), IPV4 & IPv6, MPLS, LDP, DHCP, VARP/VRRP, VRF, ICMP, ECMPSystem AdministrationAAA/TACACS, SNMP, Sflow, ACLCloud and AI Technologies Including:QoS, FlowControl, PFC, Packet Forwarding and Buffering, Shaping and PolicingOpen source network operating system especially SONiC is highly desiredExperience with troubleshooting tools such tcpdump, and Wireshark (or similar packet generation and analysis tools) is requiredA strong comfort level with Linux is highly desiredFamiliarity with shell scripting, python, gNMI/gRPC or Ansible is a plusTroubleshooting high-speed network connections (400G/800G), familiarity with OSFP/QSFP/LPO optics and link diagnostics like PRBS will be a plusMinimum education preferred is a BS in a technical field (Network focused preferred). Industry certifications preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from engineering to executive managementCustomer facing experience or prior TAC experience is highly desired.Compensation InformationThe new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $90,000 to $150,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
