Speech Pathologist

Job Summary
Provide service to patients who have speech and language problems. Participate in the development of speech therapy plans of care for patients. Make visits to the patients for initial and ongoing assessments to identify the patient’s level of functioning and ability to communicate, including OASIS Assessments at appropriate time points. Communicate with the physician before the start of care and as needed. Implement the plans of care. Provide education and instruction to team members, patients, and families. Document care and submit paperwork in an accurate and timely manner to update and maintain the patient medical records.

Required Qualifications

 

• One (1) year of experience (preferably in a medical setting).
• Ability to verbally communicate and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use.
• Current driver's license, insured, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record (if driving is required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

 

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC).

Required Education

 

• Master's Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech Language Pathology or equivalent.

Required Certifications & Licensure

 

• Speech Language Pathologist License (SLP) - State Issuing Authority.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA).
