PET Maintenance Mechanic Job Summary We're hiring a PET Maintenance Mechanic in Ogden, UT for a well-established food and beverage manufacturing facility. This role pays $21.15/hour and puts your mechanical, electrical, and PLC skills to work on high-speed production equipment in a structured, safety-focused environment. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment including blow molders, rotary high-speed fillers, labelers, sleeve machines, case packers, and palletizers
Install, start up, and shut down equipment following company safety policies and OSHA requirements
Diagnose and repair electrical components including VFDs, motor starters, and temperature sensors — working with industrial electrical systems up to 480 VAC
Work with PLC hardware and software to support controls and instrumentation
Maintain strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and comply with BRC/HACCP food safety standards
Support logistics tasks including receiving goods, staging materials for upcoming production orders, and loading bulk product for shipment
Identify and report safety, quality, or equipment issues proactively
What You Bring Required
2+ years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Experience with PLC hardware/software and industrial electrical systems up to 480 VAC
Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Preferred
Experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment
Familiarity with BRC, HACCP, or similar food safety management systems
Trade or vocational school training in a related field
Schedule & Shift This position follows a 2-2-3 rotating schedule across four shifts:
A and B Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
C and D Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
The 2-2-3 schedule means you'll work two days on, two days off, three days on — rotating between day and night shifts. This schedule gives you more full days off than a traditional 5-day workweek. Pay & Compensation $21.15 per hour Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently. You'll be on your feet for extended periods (8-12 hours) and working in temperatures ranging from approximately 38°F to 80°F depending on the area of the facility.
