Probst Electric offers a certified Lineman Apprenticeship program for eligible employees who want to attain the Journeyman's License.Job ResponsibilitiesGeneral Lineman Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systemsString wire conductors and cablesOpen switches or attach grounding devices to remove electricalClimb poles or use truck-mounted buckets to access equipmentPlace insulating or fireproofing materials over conductors and jointsIdentify defective sectionalizing devices, circuit breakers, fuses, voltage regulators, transformers, switches, relays, or wiring, using wiring diagrams and electrical-testing instrumentsTake actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructionsLocate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning workAdhere to safety practices and proceduresExcavate and drill holesErect and maintain structuresRight of Way clearing and reclamationRead and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activitiesPerform other related duties as assignedInspect and test power lines and auxiliary equipmentOperate machinery such as track hoes, backhoes, digger derricks, lo-drill, air drill, forklift, cranes, skid steers, line pullers, or line tensionersRequirementsRequirements:Valid CDL and Medical Card (No exceptions)Ability to travel throughout the US (position requires FULL-TIME TRAVEL)Graduated from an accredited line school or have equivalent verifiable experienceAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to work long hours outdoors in all types of weather, and move/lift at least 50 lbs. on a consistent basisPass pre-employment and other drug screening requirementsPreference given to candidates with:Heavy equipment operator experienceCrane certificationBenefitsAt Probst Electric Inc., a proud subsidiary of Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR), you'll join a team that takes pride in delivering high-voltage transmission construction, design-build solutions, and maintenance services for public and private utilities.
