Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)Pay Range: $21.50hr - $23.05hrThe Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the organization to patients who come in for health routines or insights into life-defining health decisions. The candidate draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The successful candidate has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The successful candidate may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or as business needs dictate.Responsibilities:Under the direction of the area supervisor, the candidate will perform daily activities accurately and on time.The candidate will maintain a safe and professional environment.The successful candidate performs with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.The candidate will perform verification of patient demographic information and initials, including obtaining the patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.The candidate maintains required records and documentation.The candidate demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.Requirements:The candidate must demonstrate superior customer focus, the ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients, the ability to accelerate and embrace change, and knowledge of the business.Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric collections.Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.Committed to all policies and procedures including company dress code, employee health and safety, and excellence guiding principles.Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.Travel and flexible hours are required to work multiple locations and to cover at patient service center or in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.Required skills include pediatrics.Required Education:High school diploma or equivalent is required.Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.Phlebotomy certification is preferred, though required in California, Nevada, and Washington.Work Experience:1-3 years of phlebotomy experience is required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.2+ years in a patient service center environment is preferred.Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is highly preferred.Keyboard and data entry experience.Additional Job Details:The work environment is a two-person site. The candidate will perform an average of 30 draws per day, including children. Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
