Elementary School Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time, school-based assignment at an elementary school for the 2026–2027 academic year. The Speech‑Language Pathologist provides comprehensive clinical services to elementary students (PreK–4th grade) presenting with speech, language, communication, and related disorders. This pivotal role involves screening, evaluation, diagnosis, and targeted treatment aligned directly with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Operating within a collaborative, team‑oriented educational environment, the SLP partners with educators, families, and multidisciplinary support teams to foster student success, facilitate transition planning, and maintain strict compliance with all state, federal, and professional regulations. Responsibilities Screenings and Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive student screenings and diagnostic assessments in strict accordance with IEP guidelines and district‑established procedures. IEP Development: Formulate, implement, and manage individualized education plans designed to address student‑specific communication, cognitive, and developmental goals. Therapeutic Intervention: Provide high-quality speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy services tailored to a diverse pediatric population within the school setting. Evidence‑Based Practice: Utilize proven clinical practices, contemporary intervention methods, and positive behavior management strategies to support student progress. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner actively with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to ensure cohesive, unified educational programming. Meeting Participation: Lead and contribute to IEP meetings, providing expert progress reporting, formal goal development, and data‑driven service recommendations. Team Communication: Maintain regular, transparent communication with interdisciplinary team members regarding student treatment plans, adjustments, and developmental milestones. Compliant Documentation: Generalize and maintain accurate, thorough, and highly compliant clinical documentation of all services in accordance with district policies and state/federal mandates. Service Logs and Billing: Complete all required service tracking, logging, and billing paperwork strictly per district guidelines and external funding requirements. Supervisory Oversight: Provide clinical direction, mentorship, and supervision to Speech‑Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), Clinical Fellows (CFYs), and interns/students in accordance with Kansas practice acts. Therapy Space Management: Ensure dedicated therapy environments and materials are kept safe, organized, clean, and optimally conducive to student learning. Qualifications & Requirements Educational Background: Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited college or university program. State Licensure: Active, valid Kansas Speech‑Language Pathologist license (or immediate eligibility to obtain prior to start date). Professional Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) awarded by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA). Clinical Experience: Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is strongly preferred; candidates must demonstrate proficiency with pediatric or school‑based populations. Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of federal and state special education regulations, including IDEA compliance and IEP systems.
