Caltrans Equipment Operator II

While working for the Caltrans Division of Equipment, under the direct supervision of the Caltrans Highway Mechanic Supervisor (HMS). The Caltrans Equipment Operator II (CEOII) safely and legally operates a heavy equipment transport truck and trailer engaged in transporting a variety of heavy equipment, vehicles, and freight throughout the district(s) and/or throughout the state. Will be required to operate a variety of maintenance, construction, and landscape equipment that may require a class A commercial license with a tank (N) endorsement for the purpose of loading, unloading pickups or delivery to maintenance yards, vendors, or equipment shops within the district and/or throughout the state. When not operating the specified equipment, may be required to assist with small facility repairs, cleaning, and maintenance. PARF# 32-27-0115 / JC-529857

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Equipment Operator II Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
