Camp SummaryCamp Bami is an Early Childhood camp for children 3-4 years old in a dedicated early childhood facility. Camp Bami’s specialties include Jewish programming, music, and arts and crafts. Daily instructional swim will be led by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Staff is required to assist in the pool during swim time.Job SummaryThe J Camps Senior Counselor is responsible for planning, leading and implementing programming for children in both small and large group settings. They will be responsible for the general safety, development, growth and skill enhancement of the participants in his/her group. This individual will provide high quality educational and recreational experiences for campers that focus on J Camp guiding principles.PRINCIPAL DUTIESSupervise all assigned aspects of the campers’ day (i.e. activities, swimming, lunch, clean-up and carpool)Learn and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.Organize and guide campers in successful participation of small and large group camp activities.Set a good example for campers, staff and others including cleanliness, language, punctuality and sportsmanship.Follow camp policies and procedures and communicate and report regularly with Director/Assistant Director regarding challenges, updates and concerns.Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.Learn the likes and dislikes of each camper.Interact with parents in a professional and courteous manner.Prepare for and actively participate in staff training and meetings.Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities.These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be assigned as required.Must be 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent as of June.Demonstrated experience working with children.Strong organizational and communication skills.
