Software Engineer

Software EngineerClearance: US Citizenship required. Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (VA/DC/MD) — Onsite/Hybrid per program requirements. Candidates must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the DC metro area prior to start. Salary: $140,000–$225,000 — Commensurate with experienceResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting mission systems.Write clean, efficient, well-documented code across the full development lifecycle.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and QA.Troubleshoot and resolve defects in existing production systems.Contribute to system design and architecture discussions.Support integration with government systems, APIs, and data sources.RequirementsProficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).Experience with software development lifecycle practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.Experience supporting missions for DoW, DHS, FBI, or another national security agency.Willingness to work onsite in the DC metro area as required.Preferred SkillsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GovCloud).Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Experience with modern front-end and back-end frameworks.Experience supporting classified or mission-critical systems.Education and Work Experience3–15 years of relevant experience, with placement (Mid, Senior, or Lead) commensurate with demonstrated experience.
