Responsibilities Instructional Demonstrate effective instructional effort by maintaining high academic standards, teaching current curriculum, communicating content effectively, and cultivating a supportive learning environment: List teaching assignments and reassigned time assignments (Provided by Administrator). Provide instructor syllabi that comply with Policy 05-12 (Provided electronically). Grade accurately, reflecting student achievements of learning outcomes; weight awards for attendance, behaviors, extra credit, and homework lower than learning assessments. Teach classes at assigned times and places, maintain teaching and office schedule; compliance assumed absent concerns/evidence presented to supervisor. Maintain and report accurate records of attendance and grades as required by state and federal law and college policy. Maintain office hours in accordance with the schedule developed and approved by the immediate supervisor each semester. Curriculum Development Review course objectives and instructional strategies periodically to ensure consistency with master syllabus. Prepare or revise master course syllabus and assist in course coordination. Participate in selection of appropriate course textbooks, resources, and learning management systems. Revise or develop new courses as needed to ensure relevancy and appropriateness of curriculum. Service and Support Encourage students to use college resources such as the Library, Learning Commons, and online resources. Engage in service to the college through standing committee participation and assistance in other units such as orientation or recruitment in student affairs. Support the division through committee participation, administrative duties, course or finals coordination, or other activities agreed upon with the supervisor. Provide service to the discipline through leadership positions in state or national organizations. Participate in the advising process. Follow college policy and procedures in all matters. Professional Development Demonstrate active engagement in professional development by developing and implementing a plan that may include short- and long-term goals and documentation to be included in a professional portfolio. The plan should be individualized and may involve innovation in instruction, curriculum, or service. Record unplanned professional development opportunities as they occur and include them in the portfolio. Qualifications Master's degree in nursing with appropriate professional certification.
