Belt Operator

Performs necessary tasks to make the CheddarMaster machines produce a product that meets quality standards. Essential functions include monitoring CheddarMaster machines, testing acid and pH on cheese, and monitoring salt addition in CheddarMaster. Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct. Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) Safely handle, measure, mix, and dispose of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals used in the Clean-In-Place (CIP) process in accordance with established procedures, safety data sheets (SDS), and company safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Regular and timely attendance required. Qualifications include computer experience helpful, dependability, trustworthiness, accuracy in taking samples and performing tests, ability to get along and work well with people, no lifting restrictions, ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment, excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality, ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed, ability to read and write instructions in English, knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals, and ability to work weekends, and overtime as required. Physical requirements frequently include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel. Occasionally lifting and/or moving 26 to 60 lbs. Rarely sitting, talking or hearing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and reaching with hands and arms. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Typical environmental conditions may include exposure to noise levels in which hearing protection will be needed, humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, fumes and toxic chemicals, mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
