Java Developer Local to Phoenix, AZ

Position Description:

CGI is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join our Applications Development and Maintenance team supporting our client which is a large US Bank working in an advanced technology environment.

This is an in office 5 days a week position located at our client site in Phoenix AZ. For this role on this particular client engagement employer sponsorship of immigration related visa and/or green card status as part of the PERM process will not be available.


Future Duties and Responsibilities:
oAs a Java Developer you will be responsible for development support maintenance and implementation of Java Front End based project modules.
oTranslate software requirements into scalable secure Java-based applications including writing specifications and designing building testing implementing and supporting applications using Java React and Python
oParticipate in project planning sessions with technical and functional leads business analysts and other team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed IT solutions.
oCollaborate in design reviews providing input on security requirements data flow to define technical requirements and ensure high-quality code and adherence to coding standards.
oDesign and implement scalable secure Java-based applications.
oDesign and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability
oWork with Oracle databases and write PL/SQL stored procedures functions and triggers.
oDevelop and maintain event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka for real-time data processing
oMonitor and troubleshoot data streaming pipelines Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
oAbility to deploy manage and scale applications on OpenShift
oParticipate in code reviews and Agile development processes ensuring alignment with pre-defined architectural specifications and identifying/troubleshooting application code-related issues.
oProvide hands-on coaching and support for junior software team personnel in microservices development systems architecture reuse development processes and technical direction.
oAct as a technical advisor on specialized phases of system design programming implementation and analysis leading and participating in major system design development and implementations.
oGather system requirements develop specifications write code according to specifications review others code/designs diagnose and fix bugs in conjunction with QA team and work independently and as part of an agile team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
oCandidate must have an agile mindset and should have 5 Yrs of good hands on as a developer with Java Springboot SQL OCP Jenkins Kafka Oracle PL/SQL
oProven hands-on Software Development experience and knowledge of Java build tools
oHands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP)
oGood Understanding of containerization (Docker concepts)
oAbility to deploy manage and scale applications on OpenShift
oProven hands on working experience and strong proficiency in Core Java
oGood Understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging systems
oExperience building Kafka producers and consumer
oProven working experience in a team using collaboration tools like GIT JIRA etc
oHands-on experience building RESTful APIs using Spring Boot
oStrong command over SQL queries (SELECT JOINs subqueries aggregations)
oExperience writing stored procedures functions and packages and good knowledge of triggers cursors and exception handling in PL/SQL
oShould have Unit and Integration testing experience
oHighly effective written and verbal communication skills

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89600.00 - $176300.00.
