Maintenance Technician I

Maintenance TechnicianThis entry-level maintenance technician role develops troubleshooting and repair skills under the guidance of senior technicians. It is intended to prepare the employee for progression into a Maintenance Technician II or III position and is not designed for long-term placement.Responsibilities:Perform preventive maintenance activities.Complete basic to intermediate mechanical repairs and component replacements.Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Learn electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and maintenance procedures.Maintain equipment records and complete work orders utilizing computerized maintenance management systems.Support equipment installations and modifications.Work alongside Maintenance Technician II and III personnel during troubleshooting activities.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following all applicable safety procedures.Maintain quality by adhering to specified programs, procedures, and requirements.Attend and successfully complete training sessions provided by the Company and/or various vendors to increase knowledge in particular areas and for specific equipment.Collaborate with support areas to resolve issues and improve facility operations.Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.Perform other related duties as assigned.Job Requirements:High school diploma or GED required. A technical degree is preferred at the time of hire.Continued eligibility for the position requires completion of a technical degree within four calendar years of placement. Failure to meet this requirement will result in loss of the position.Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude testing is required.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is required.Willingness to work nonstandard shifts and weekends as needed.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.Ability to lift, move, and manipulate items weighing up to 55 lbs.Preferred Qualifications and Skills:Self-motivated with strong communication and teamwork skills.Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic certifications.Prior hands-on experience working on CNC equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders with a preference toward Okuma, Haas, and Doosan machines.Highly self-sufficient and motivated to solve problems, address root causes effectively, and drive improvement across multiple areas.Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
