Job Title: 1st Shift Welder

Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Pay: Starting at $20.00/hour

Summary

• Perform MIG welding on steel components and assemblies according to specifications and work instructions.
• Set up welding machines, select appropriate settings, and make adjustments as needed for different materials and applications.
• Fabricate and assemble mower deck attachments, auger bits, and custom components using drawings, measurements, and fixtures.
• Measure and inspect parts using tape measures, squares, calipers, and other basic measuring tools.
• Perform grinding, cutting, drilling, deburring, and other fabrication tasks as needed.
• Visually inspect welds for quality, consistency, penetration, and defects.
• Identify and correct welding or fabrication issues before parts move to the next stage of production.
• Safely operate and maintain welding equipment, grinders, saws, drills, forklifts, and other shop machinery.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and welding safety equipment.

Requirements

• Previous MIG welding or fabrication experience required. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certifications: Welding certifications are a plus.
• Skills & Qualifications :
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Ability to produce consistent, quality welds with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment, hand tools, and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and calipers.
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and working in various positions.
  • Willingness to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen
