Description Essential Job Functions:
- Set up, maintain, and break down banquet and event functions in accordance with banquet event orders and chef's direction.
- Arrange plates, chafing dishes, utensils, décor, and event props to presentation standards.
- Assist with plating, buffet execution, and overall service support during events.
- Run food to banquet stations and service areas; replenish buffets promptly and professionally throughout events.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of outdoor events, including grills, propane tanks, ice stations, mats, and charcoal equipment, following all safety procedures.
- Break down buffet setups after events; clean, organize, and return all equipment to proper storage locations.
- Polish and maintain chafing dishes, service ware, and equipment to presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, kitchens, stewarding areas, and outdoor event spaces before, during, and after events.
- Safely lift, move, and store banquet equipment, including tables, chafers, carts, and outdoor event materials.
- Follow all sanitation, safety, and food handling standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with chefs, stewards, supervisors, and event staff to ensure seamless event execution and operational support.
- Performs the same work as kitchen utility workers.
- Assist other culinary or stewarding team members as needed.
- Provide courteous and professional interaction with club members and guests.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.
- Ability to read and follow banquet function sheets and event diagrams.
- Working knowledge and understanding of health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as food service industry best practices.
- Understanding of kitchen operations, including dishwashing systems and kitchen utility equipment.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in hotel or high-volume kitchen environments preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Ability to lift and transport large quantity of dishes, silverware, pots, pans and other kitchen equipment for short distances and store appropriately. Ability to move up to 50 lbs; stand up to 8 hrs daily; perform manual cleaning tasks, as required.
