Operational Buyer

Responsibilities Assure that material, supplies, and services are available as required and meet established goals through adherence to Edwards / Atlas Copco purchasing policies. Build strong relationships with suppliers to leverage their knowledge and abilities to support Edwards and Atlas Copco business objectives. Engage suppliers to expedite goods when necessary and clearly communicate details with affected groups and coordinate follow-up plans. Utilize reports to ensure adequate inventory of purchased material is maintained to meet production requirements. Create and maintain requisitions, purchase orders, acknowledgements and resolve invoice discrepancies. Identify changes in customer demand and adjust accordingly. Use MRP/SAP to perform material requirements planning through interactions between production and planning personnel to ensure material availability. Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance; work collaboratively in a team with a spirit of cooperation. Respectfully take direction from the supervisor/manager. Qualifications High School education or GED. Minimum 2 years experience buying direct and indirect material to support business operations. Experience in an aftermarket environment with emphasis on customer service. APICS, NAPM or ISM certification a plus. Demonstrated ability to drive positive outcomes with creative solutions to sourcing and supplier development. Working experience with Microsoft Office – PowerPoint and Excel. Working knowledge of MRP; SAP experience preferred. Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Self‑starter and effective time manager.
