Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Materials Planner III to manage material planning, inventory coordination, supplier communications, and production support activities. This role is responsible for planning, ordering, and expediting materials required for manufacturing operations while ensuring optimal inventory levels and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support production schedules, resolve supply chain challenges, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Material Planning & Inventory Management Plan, order, and expedite materials required to support manufacturing operations and production schedules. Coordinate inventory levels to align with production capacity, demand forecasts, and operational requirements. Compile, schedule, and monitor material orders to ensure uninterrupted production flow. Track and manage material availability for both existing and new product introductions. Supplier Management Maintain proactive communication with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, packaging concerns, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) issues. Work directly with suppliers to resolve issues related to deliveries, pricing, procedures, and service performance. Monitor and evaluate supplier delivery performance and identify improvement opportunities. Escalate supply chain risks and develop corrective action plans when necessary. Dat a Analysis & Reporting Develop, maintain, and analyze spreadsheets, reports, and databases to support planning activities. Audit pull signals, inventory systems, and overall material planning processes. Analyze operational data to identify trends, inventory risks, and opportunities for process improvements. Generate reports for management and cross-functional teams as required. Cross-Functional Collaboration Provide planning and material status information to Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and other departments. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support production readiness and issue resolution. Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments and supplier networks. Interface with customers, suppliers, engineers, and operations personnel to support business objectives. Q uality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Participate in quality system activities, audits, and corrective action programs. Lead and support continuous improvement projects focused on planning efficiency and supply chain performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, planning procedures, and safety requirements. Maintain confidentiality of business, supplier, and operational information. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Travel as required to support supplier and business needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. Experience in Materials Planning, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Control, Production Planning, Procurement, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory management, or supply chain systems. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and relationship management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree with significant directly related experience may be considered where applicable. Experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, aerospace, or engineering environments. Knowledge of supply chain planning methodologies, forecasting, and inventory optimization. Experience working with supplier performance metrics and EDI systems. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles. Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI). Certifications No specific certifications required. APICS/ASCM Certifications (CPIM, CSCP) are highly preferred. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Supply Chain certifications are a plus.
