Job Description\n Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Fort Wayne, Indiana.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n \n PARKVIEW ITEMS OF NOTE:\n - Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (reduction of regular bill rate by 12%; rate multipliers be applied to the reduced regular bill rate).\n - Call off policy: Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours for every 13 week assignment.\n - Non-billable Orientation Hours: 8 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation, clinicians returning within 12 months of their last worked date will not be eligible for non-billable orientation.\n Facility will accept local travelers with a 12% reduction in rate.\n **Client can call off up to 24 hours per 13 week contract and there are 8 hours of non-billable orientation.**.\n Name of Position Requirements.\n Does your candidate require time off during this assignment? If so, list the days in the comment section.\n Minimum 1.5 years ICU experience required.\n Must have a valid IN RN License.\n ACLS (AHA only).\n Mixed acuity unit - main patients will be PCU with 1:3 ratio, less likely ICU patients with 1:2 ratio.\n Travel experience preferred.\n Level 1 or Level 2 facility experience preferred.\n Position will float to ALL ICU, PCU and Medsurg units with a 1:3 max ratio.\n BLS (AHA only).\n General job duties.\n Types of procedures required.\n Caring for ventilated patients, initiating and titrating IV drips (vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics), Assist with intubations, line placement.\n Monitoring critically ill patients with primary diagnosis of sepsis, respiratory failure (acute and chronic), renal failure (acute and chronic), myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia.\n This is a mixed acuity unit and there are ICU and progressive patients on the same unit.\n Traveler's will care for both types of patients, more often progressive patients than ICU patients.\n Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.\n Phillips heart monitors, Epic (EMR), Pyxis, EKG machine, dopplers.\n Required skills and minimum years of experience.\n Strong background in medical patients and critical care with the ability to be flexible, critically think and reason, team oriented, and personable.\n Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required, 2 years ICU experience preferred.\n Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.\n BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), IN RN license.\n Shift or schedule requirements.\n Three 12 hour shifts per week.\n Traditional weekday plus weekend rotation.\n Would never work alone.\n Floating to other units/departments.\n This is a mixed acuity unit and there are ICU and progressive patients on the same unit.\n Traveler's will care for both types of patients, more often progressive patients than ICU patients.\n These travelers can be floated to other ICUs, other progressive units and down to Medsurg, but will maintain 1:3 ratios across the board.\n Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.\n Medical ICU 24 beds, Progressive Care is 12 beds.\n Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.\n Prog 1:3 or 1:4 w/transfers or medical patients, ICU 1:2 or 1:3 w/transfers or medical patients.\n Dress Code:\n Caribbean blue scrubs.\n Jackets must be black, white, or Caribbean blue.\n Short sleeves or long sleeves may be worn under the scrubs but must be black or white.\n Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.\n Onboarding through workforce development to review policies and obtain EPIC training and access.\n One day of the unit onboarding.\n About Malone Healthcare - Nursing\n \n With a commitmentto providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.As a leading healthcare staffing agency, Malone’s focus on compliance and integrity translates to a seamless experience for our team members and partner facilities.
