Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse position is located in a facility that manages a diverse patient population, including cardiac surgical and medical patients, as well as occasional adult medical ICU overflow. The role involves night shifts, with a focus on providing specialized care for adult and geriatric patients within a busy unit. The position requires a minimum of two years of clinical experience in an ICU setting, with additional certification and skills in cardiac and critical care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid and current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications, plus NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid OK or Compact license; at least 2 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), including arterial line management, vent care, central line management, CVA/Stroke management, blood product administration, and management of multisystem organ failure.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult medical ICU overflow, experience with complex cardiac patients, and familiarity with community hospital charting systems.
• Additional Information: The role may involve float to Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU), Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU if needed. The unit has interdisciplinary support from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The daily census is approximately 20 patients within a 24-bed unit, serving adult and geriatric populations. Travelers will undergo a brief onsite orientation, with modules completed during orientation hours. Floating to like units within scope is expected as needed, based on facility needs.
