Accounts Payable Accountant

Accounts Payable AccountantPolaris Wireless is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to manage our accounts payable function. The ideal candidate will bring experience in multi-currency conversion and a strong understanding of GAAP principles, sales and use tax rules, and W-9/1099 filing requirements.You will collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during annual audits and provide reconciliation schedules related to AP and liability accruals. We are looking for a detail-oriented, passionate individual contributor who can work independently and take ownership of this function.Specific responsibilities will include:Review and post all expense reports and vendor invoices in QuickBooksPrepare wire transfers and check batches for disbursement cyclesPrepare required forms for contractors/non-employees for annual IRS reportingMaintain vendor agreements, payable files, and W-9 documentationReview and post accruals for contractor expenses, general accruals, and other expensesMaintain fixed asset sub-ledger and depreciation schedulesPrepare annual property tax returnsPrepare and file sales and use tax returnsPrepare and file annual 1099 formsAssist with annual audit proceduresQualificationsThe individual should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields and a minimum of 3 years' work related experiences.3–5 years of experience in accounts payable operationsStrong knowledge of QuickBooks softwareProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)Solid understanding of GAAP principlesKnowledge of sales and use tax rules, W-9, and 1099 filing requirementsUnderstanding of foreign exchange gains/losses and multi-currency accountingDemonstrated ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independentlyThis position is located in Santa Clara, CA.
