The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is looking to hire a full-time Social Media Specialist. The Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the Tribe’s social media presence in alignment with established communications strategy, Tribal values, and organizational priorities.

This role supports the Office of Communications by ensuring that all digital content is

consistent, culturally appropriate, and aligned with approved messaging. All content is

developed under the direction of the Communications Manager & Community Liaison and final oversight of the Chief Communications Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Social Media Management

• Manage day-to-day operations of official social media accounts

• Schedule, publish, and monitor content across platforms

• Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding

2. Content Development

• Develop engaging and informative content aligned with Tribal priorities

• Collaborate with internal departments to gather content

• Ensure all content is reviewed and approved prior to publication

3. Monitoring & Engagement

• Monitor public engagement, comments, and messages

• Flag issues, concerns, or emerging risks to the Communications Manager

• Maintain professional and appropriate interaction standards

4. Brand & Messaging Compliance

• Ensure all content aligns with Tribal values, cultural sensitivities, and

communications standards

• Adhere to established policies and approval processes

5. Performance Tracking

• Track social media performance and engagement metrics

• Provide regular reports and insights to the Communications Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing social media platforms

• Strong writing and content creation skills

• Familiarity with social media tools and analytics
