Senior Engineer, Platform Services

Driving the technical vision for shared services, the full-time Senior Engineer, Platform Services will design, develop, and maintain product-grade services that support Stord's engineering teams, all while working remotely. Key responsibilities Own the design and operational health of shared services, establishing clear service contracts and integration patterns for product teams Translate architectural direction into production-quality implementations and build reference implementations for service integration Act as a technical resource for product teams, identifying friction points and collaborating on improvements to enhance service reliability Required qualifications 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems Strong proficiency in Elixir or TypeScript, with a willingness to learn the other quickly Experience designing and operating shared services or platform capabilities for engineering teams Proven track record of taking ownership of ambiguous technical problems and driving them to resolution Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, including API design and event-driven architectures
