Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Some Weekend Shifts Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to high-risk Labor and Delivery patients including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and multiple gestations
• Manage active labor patients including induction, augmentation, VBAC/TOLAC, and maternal emergencies
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 for laboring patients and 1:3 for antepartum patients
• Float between units within the facility as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care setting
• Experience with high-risk obstetric conditions including pre-eclampsia, antepartum care, and maternal emergencies
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify as a traveler

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Short Term Acute Care or Level II Trauma Center environment
• Familiarity with VBAC/TOLAC protocols and active management of complex laboring patients
• Experience in a teaching hospital setting
