Job Description

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until April 17, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be October 30, 2025 with subsequent cut-off date every two weeks. The VAMC also offers services to homeless Veterans through the Community Resource and Referral Center located in downtown Huntington, near community resources. A standalone Women's Health Clinic on campus provides comprehensive health care services to our female patients. Extensive use of community resources, as well as contract community nursing homes for post-hospitalization care, complement our Medical Center's treatment programs. This Medical Center is the principal teaching facility for the Marshall University School of Medicine for undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Duties

• The Physician is the Gastroenterology Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice.
• The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to the study, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the digestive system.
• This physician will perform or assist in related procedures.
• Gastroenterology is the discipline whose providers study the normal function and diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver.
• The Physician works as a member of the Gastroenterology Medical team at the Hershel "Woody" Williams campus of the Huntington VA Hospital. There may be sometimes that the clinician would have to visit a CBOC for the purpose of meetings or trainings.
• There may be other duties as assigned or required.
