Adjunct Faculty EMS Department: Dean of Health Sciences Location: Framingham Position Summary The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, serve students with diverse needs and backgrounds, and develop educational and evaluation materials in line with MassBay Community College’s philosophy, the MA Office of Emergency Medical Services, and CoAEMSP standards. The part‑time instructor maintains a current OEMS or NREMT license/certification and expertise in emergency medical services. This instructor teaches classroom, skills lab, and simulation laboratory courses in the EMT and Paramedicine Programs, works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students, and mentors a diverse student population. Key Responsibilities and Duties Teach EMT and Paramedicine courses, including classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulation‑based instruction. Prepare syllabi, develop curricula, and address course and program learning outcomes and graduation requirements. Teach effectively in traditional or hybrid environments. Serve as an advisor to students as needed. Participate in College, Division, and Program meetings. Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes. Maintain a safe environment during skills training and evaluation sessions. Support the accreditation efforts of EMS. Use technology to communicate with students and colleagues and enhance classroom learning. Maintain required paperwork and documentation for the program and accreditation agencies. Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean/Assistant Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Required Qualifications Current, active MA and/or NREMT Paramedic certification without restriction and in good standing. Obtain a Massachusetts paramedic license within 30 days of hire if only holding NREMT certification. Minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last ten years as a paramedic on an emergency response ambulance. Any associate degree from an accredited college or university, or comparable experience; commitment to complete an associate degree within three years of hire. Current AHA, BLS, and ACLS certification. Current AHA BLS Instructor credential if teaching EMTs. Preferred Qualifications Sensitivity and commitment to affirmative action goals. Experience working in a community college or similar environment. Commitment to working with students in need. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Teaching experience in EMS—EMTs, paramedics, first responders, or other healthcare‑related instruction. Availability to teach in the evening. Current Massachusetts EMS Instructor/Coordinator credential. Current NRP provider and instructor credential. Demonstrated strength in teaching introductory and advanced EMT and paramedic skills. Current in all areas of prehospital care and operations for instructing students in didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings. Additional Information Salary Range: $1,512.00 – $1,715.00 DCE per credit or $56.60 hourly Position Type: DCE-Adjunct Application Deadline: Open until filled.
