What Your Days Will Entail

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering diagnostic tests, and creating tailored care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions in collaboration with physicians or independently depending on your credentials
• Instructing patients and families on preventive measures, wellness initiatives, and disease management strategies
• Prescribing medications and treatments as permitted within your scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic care
• Cooperating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure well-rounded, holistic patient care
• Accurately documenting all interactions in electronic medical records (EMR)

Education Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Essential Certifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to gain within 90 days)
