Located in the heart of the West Village, Anton's Cafe & Wine Bar is the first restaurant from Co-Owners Chef Nick Anderer and Beverage & Operations Director Natalie Johnson. Anton's is a nostalgic New York Caf and Wine Bar serving updated old-world cuisine with deep French, Italian, English and American influences. We're currently growing our team, and looking for an experienced Matre d. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of high-volume door experience, must possess strong communication skills, be focused and able to prioritize abundant and varied responsibilities, as well as demonstrate poise and a genuine instinct to warmly welcome all guests. A successful Matre d' presents a hospitable, organized, flexible and kind demeanor under all circumstances. This position greatly impacts cover volume and flow of service, which directly affects both FOH and BOH teams and operations. The ability to recognize regular guests, friends and family, hospitality industry peers/VIPs, key press and critics, as well as warmly welcome first-time diners is a requirement of this position. Experienced hosts are encouraged to apply as well.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creating a seating plan before each service & communicating with management
• Identifying Soign guests and presenting notes before each service
• Proactively collect and continuously add relevant information to guest notes
• Participation in lineup by communicating seating plan and pertinent guest notes
• Basic menu knowledge
• Offer enthusiastic, warm, genuine interactions with guests, at both arrival and departure
• Leadership and positivity in service

Compensation: Hourly ($28.00 - $34.00) plus tips
