Key Responsibilities
Formwork Construction & Assembly: Cutting, shaping, and assembling wooden or metal forms according to blueprints to hold wet concrete until it sets.
Layout & Measurement: Using optical levels, laser tools, plumb bobs, and measuring instruments to ensure forms are perfectly level, square, and aligned to structural specifications.
Bracing & Shoring: Installing heavy-duty diagonal bracing, tie rods, and scaffolding to resist the immense lateral hydrostatic pressure exerted by freshly poured wet concrete.
Rebar & Hardware Coordination: Placing anchor bolts, embedment plates, structural sleeves, and coordinating with ironworkers for rebar placement before pours.
Form Removal (Stripping): Dismantling temporary formwork after the concrete cures, carefully preserving materials for reuse and inspecting structural integrity.
Concrete Pour Assistance: Monitoring form integrity during active pours to prevent blowouts, leaks, or alignment shifts.
