Location: California Emeryville or LA office (Hybrid Schedule) Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: Competitive Salary + Benefits Position Overview Our plaintiff-side employment law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling complex California employment law matters. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact cases involving wage and hour violations, class actions, representative actions under California's Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and federal claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Support attorneys throughout all phases of employment litigation. Prepare, organize, and maintain case files and litigation databases. Draft and assist with pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and court filings. Manage document production, review, and analysis for complex employment matters. Coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances. Assist with class action administration and PAGA representative actions. Prepare exhibits, trial binders, witness files, and hearing materials. Conduct factual investigations and legal research related to California employment law. Track litigation deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures. Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel. Areas of Practice Class Action Litigation Plaintiff-Side Employment Litigation PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) Claims FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) Collective Actions Meal and Rest Break Violations Overtime and Minimum Wage Claims Employee Misclassification Unpaid Wages and Commissions Retaliation and Wrongful Termination Claims Qualifications Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved or accredited program preferred. Minimum 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in employment law. Knowledge of California Labor Code, Wage Orders, PAGA, and FLSA requirements. Familiarity with state and federal court filing procedures. Experience with e‑filing in California courts and federal courts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and litigation support software. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting wage and hour class actions and representative actions. Trial preparation and trial support experience. Familiarity with document review platforms and e‑discovery processes. Experience working in a plaintiff-side employment law practice. Work Arrangement Hybrid work schedule with a combination of remote and in‑office work. Must reside in California and be available to attend in‑office meetings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation as needed. Competitive salary based on experience.
