Job Title: Catering Lead Location: UWG Recruiting Location Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 299989 Job Summary This position will be responsible for the execution of catered events, communication with clients at the events as well as supervising catering staff. Must be able to make decisions related to food safety and sanitation as well as decisions to solve customer concerns. Not following food safety and sanitation protocol could lead to food borne illness. Failure to resolve issues at the event could potentially have a negative impact on the department. Responsibilities Assist in supervising all aspects of catering banquet events from preparation and set‑up, break‑down and clean‑up; designs, coordinates, facilitates and executes catered events on campus. Schedule, train, and supervise Student Assistants on policy and procedure standards for all catering events. Ensure that standards for safety, sanitation, quality, presentation, service and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times. Participates in and assists with management of full‑time, part‑time and Student Assistants personal activities and training of proper service. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High School or equivalent and one year working experience in high volume catering environment. One year of Supervisory experience required. Knowledge of food preparation, presentation and customer service. Preferred Qualifications Prefer two years working in a high volume catering environment. Knowledge of food and supply ordering, storage, and inventory control. Two or more years in a Supervisory role in a high volume catering environment preferred. Demonstrate strong supervisory and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral format. Basic Serve Safe Certification or knowledge. Salary $16.94 - $18.00 per hour. Paid on a bi‑weekly basis. Abilities Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Lack of attention to detail can result in database corruption. Daily use of Eatec requires diligence and attention to detail.
