Endless skies and wide-open spaces... The Community – Harlem, MT Harlem is located just north of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation between Havre and Malta. Fort Belknap Indian Reservation is home to the Gros Ventre and Assiniboine tribes. Guided tours are available to Snake Butte, Mission Canyon, Bear Gulch, and St. Paul's Mission. Annual events include Milk River Indian Days and Hay's Powwow and Fair, both in July, featuring dancing, singing, and hand drum contests by natives from throughout the United States and Canada. The Fort Belknap Indian Reservation is located 40 miles south of the Canadian border and twenty miles north of the Mississippi River, which is the route of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Because of the close working relationship, the Tribes have given Indian Health Service providers hunting and fishing privileges on the reservation to hunt deer, antelope, elk, buffalo, and game birds. This area offers activities for all seasons, from fishing, hiking, hunting, river rafting, and all winter sports. About the Facility – Fort Belknap Indian Hospital Fort Belknap Service Unit is a Joint Commission 6-bed critical access hospital (CAH) located at the Fort Belknap Agency, Harlem, Montana, and a satellite health clinic located in Hays, approximately 35 miles away. The 6-bed CAH provides the majority of the health care for all Gros Ventres, Assiniboines, and eligible Native American patients on and near the Fort Belknap Reservation. The Fort Belknap CAH outpatient visits average 39,000 per year. The new clinic in Hays, the Eagle Child Health Center, can adequately serve 13,000 per year. Dentist - Responsibilities:

• Perform a full range of professional dental treatments to include treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventative measures, such as single and multiple tooth extractions, restoration of various lesions with standard and prescribed material, prosthodontics such as crowns, dentures, and bridges.
• Strictly adhere to patient safety standards.
• Document patient treatment in the dental treatment record, Dentrix, to enter patient-specific workload, readiness status, and patient scheduling.
• Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors within appropriate Client guidelines.
• Responsible for actions necessary for The Joint Commission (TJC) standard compliance and administrative policies, as directed.
• Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department health care providers on an as-needed basis.
• Provide physician service and staff the urgent care clinic, as needed.
• Complete all annual training required by the Clinical Director and Client/HHS policies.
• Electronically document services utilizing the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete all required administrative paperwork within 24 hours of patient visit to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences, and peer review, as required.

Dentist - Qualifications:

• Permanent, current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Graduate of an accredited dental school approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA) with either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
• Active BLS or ACLS.
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.
