Accounting Analyst

Position Summary

As a key member of the accounting team, the analyst will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reviewing monthly financial information, and reporting results. The analyst will also be responsible for ensuring adequate internal controls, including end-user computer applications controls, are designed and effectively implemented. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Experienced in journal entries, knowledge of General Ledger, and how journal entries affect the GL
• Experience in Intercompany processes, processing POs and accruals
• Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
• Highly competent in the use of the MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio)
• Understanding of internal control concepts
• Self-confidence, critical thinking, ability to influence, ability to work independently, and willingness to work extended hours (if necessary)
• High level of time management and organizational skills
• Experience with data analysis tools is an asset
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• CPA or equivalent qualification preferred

Essential Functions:

• Preparation of journal entries
• Must have actual accounting knowledge, general ledgers, balance sheet, etc
• Understanding of the design and operation of internal controls
• Plan, coordinate, and execute various ad hoc queries and reports used by all management levels in the development of key strategies and operational decision-making
