Patient Care Associate - District Float Pool - Per Diem - MHS

Location: Miramar, Florida As a patient care assistant under the supervision of a registered nurse, the role involves providing basic patient care and supporting nursing staff with technical and clinical tasks. Responsibilities Monitor patient status and report abnormal findings to nursing staff. Perform basic patient care activities delegated by an RN, including vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, and blood glucose measurements. Assist with patient transport and personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, and eating. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms and common areas. Carry out other duties assigned by nursing or clinical staff. Competencies Accountability Customer service Organization skills Patient and family centered care Patient safety – ancillary/support Problem solving Responding to change Standards of behavior Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or other recognized program) – must be current within 6 months of hire. Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience demonstrating ability to perform basic patient care activities. Physical Requirements Work involves standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 35pounds. Employees must be able to perform these tasks for up to 60% of their shift with minimal supervision. The role may require handling bodily fluids and communicating clearly with patients.
