Contract Specialist

Contract SpecialistThis person serves as the front door for procurement. You will own the intake process, move contract actions from initial request all the way through execution, and keep stakeholders aligned across legal, HR, finance, IT, talent acquisition, and other departments. Alongside the transactional work, you will build the reporting that gives leadership visibility into pipeline and renewals, identify ways to streamline how the team operates, and grow into a role supporting and eventually leading supplier negotiations.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn procurement intake and coordinate contract actions from submission through signatureTrack renewals, sourcing activity, and pipeline status across an assigned portfolioBuild dashboards, trackers, and reports that support workload planning and leadership decisionsServe as the primary contact for internal stakeholders and partner cross functionally to resolve roadblocksRecommend and implement process improvements that make procurement faster and more transparentMaintain governance, compliance, and documentation requirements for the functionFlag risks, dependencies, and competing priorities to leadership with a recommended path forwardSupport supplier and contract negotiations covering pricing, service levels, commercial terms, and renewals, with a path toward leading themQualifications3 to 5 years in procurement, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, business operations, project coordination, or a comparable functionHands on experience across the contract lifecycle, from intake through execution and renewalBackground partnering with legal, HR, finance, IT, and other business units, ideally in a small or midsize organization where the scope of the role spans several areasTrack record building reports, trackers, and dashboards used to manage priorities and pipelineWorking knowledge of a contract lifecycle or procurement platform such as Coupa, Ariba, Jaggaer, ServiceNow, or something similarStrong Excel skills including pivot tables and reporting, plus PowerPoint and SharePointBachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance, public administration, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experiencePrior exposure to nonprofit, association, professional services, or financial services environments is a plusAdditional DetailsTarget start is as soon as possibleInterview process includes an initial screen, a conversation with the hiring manager, a panel interview, and a final leadership discussionThe organization holds full team onsite weeks in mid October, mid November, and mid DecemberOvertime requires supervisor approval and is not anticipatedBackground check requiredGeneral office environmentPerksHigh visibility seat that touches every department in the organizationReal ownership from day one rather than a narrow support roleSchedule flexibility available after the initial onboarding periodMentorship from an experienced procurement leader and a clear runway to take on negotiationsMission driven nonprofit setting with a collaborative, tight knit team
