Private Equity Associate, Co-Investments

A leading middle-market private equity investment firm is seeking to add a Private Equity Associate to its New York investment team. The firm partners with management teams, founders, independent sponsors, and co-investment partners to acquire and grow high-quality businesses across a range of industries. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals across the entire investment lifecycle , including sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring investments. This is a highly entrepreneurial role offering meaningful responsibility, direct exposure to investment decision-making, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced investors in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Participate in all stages of the investment lifecycle, including deal sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, execution, portfolio monitoring, and exit planning Evaluate investment opportunities through financial analysis, industry research, and commercial assessment Build and maintain detailed financial models, LBO models, valuation analyses, and investment committee presentations Support transaction execution by coordinating diligence workstreams, management meetings, financing processes, and third-party advisors Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to senior investment professionals Work closely with portfolio company management teams to monitor operating performance and identify value creation initiatives Develop relationships with investment banks, independent sponsors, co-investment partners, and other intermediaries to support sourcing efforts Analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics to support new investment opportunities Ideal Background 2–3 years of experience in investment banking or private equity Experience working on middle-market M&A transactions with strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities Exposure to co-investments, independent sponsor transactions, direct investments, or sponsor-backed acquisitions is highly preferred Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple live transactions in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact directly with management teams, advisors, and investors Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to take on increasing responsibility within a lean investment team #J-18808-Ljbffr Alexander Chapman
