Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active RN Licensure in California Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - PALS (within 180 days of hire) - TNCC (within 180 days of hire) - NIHSS (within 90 days of hire) Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Experience with Epic charting system Description: Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care. Delivers direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Provides holistic and individualized care to all patients in the assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their families/support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers through effective communication. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations. Promotes an optimal patient experience. Weekend requirement includes every other Saturday and Sunday, as well as holidays as needed. Patient ratios are 2:1. Requires occasional floating to other units. Interdisciplinary support includes various healthcare professionals such as physical therapy and respiratory services. Daily census averages around 40 patients. Additional skills in arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, ventilator management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases required. Experience in high-acuity settings and management of patients with acute and chronic conditions preferred.
