Senior Systems Engineer

Description The Maritime Systems Division of Leidos is seeking a systems engineer with experience in Model Based Systems Engineering, requirements development, test plan and procedure creation, and algorithm development. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of systems engineering processes and experience with hardware/software integration. Customer communication skills are highly desirable. The candidate should work well in a collaborative environment, understand Agile development methodologies, and seek to identify and champion both technical and process innovations. The C4I Prototype is a new product that is rapidly maturing and nearing readiness for deployment. The program provides for deployment, monitoring, and communications of a buoy that includes a software defined radio. The implementation in Rust controls the radio in meeting key mission objectives. Tasking and responsibilities will vary depending on project objectives and may extend to programs beyond the C4I Prototype. Primary Responsibilities Support the development and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts including: Requirements SysML models Test Plans Test Procedures Formal Test Reports Basic Qualifications US Citizenship required Requires BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience. Active Secret clearance Proven experience in all phases of Systems Engineering including requirements, algorithms, integration, test, and modeling Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required for an effective interface with all internal and external contacts. Possess business and technical vision Experience with SysML Preferred Qualifications Experience with the Navy's Cooperative Engagement Capability Experience using the Atlassian toolsetExperience with Cameo/Magic Draw Experience in Agile development methods, including Scrum Experience developing and giving presentations to a government customer Experience with MATLAB is beneficial. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
