Power Generation Project Manager

Power Generation Project Manager - (191453) HDR is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our West Region Power Generation team. As a Project Manager, you will be joining a highly capable, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects within the industrial, institutional, municipal, IPP and utility power and energy industry. The Project Manager will be a seller‑doer who helps maintain client relationships, brings in projects, develops strategies and plans for performing the work, monitors and communicates project status, and leads multi‑discipline project teams to successful completion. Responsibilities Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships. Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals. Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered. Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities. Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client so that the work plan and the client’s expectations are understood and aligned; monitor deliverables for quality, completeness and conformance to expectations. Proactively monitor and maintain the project budget and schedule, developing recovery plans as needed. Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes. Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and consulting issues. Perform design or consulting work in the manager’s area of engineering expertise. Routinely report project progress to the local and regional accounting and operations team. Handle multiple concurrent projects. Exhibit excellent organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Seven years of related experience. At least two years of project management experience. Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. MS Office and MS Project experience required (Access experience plus). Demonstrated leadership skills. Commitment to active participation in the employee‑owned culture.
