Position Available Cook – 10 Month Work Location Salmon River Central School District Salary $28,490 - $32,338 Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of full-time experience (or part-time equivalent) in large scale cooking; or two (2) years' experience (or part-time equivalent) as a food service helper Reports To Food Service Manager Job Goal To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness. Major Duties Prepares food according to a planned menu and tested, uniform recipes and determines if the finished product is of the best quality both in flavor and appearance before it is served. Assists in determining the quantities of each food to be prepared daily. Organizes and plans the best use and control of the equipment with complete charge of the operation of the ovens, steamer, kettle, ranges, mixer, food cutter, etc. for final preparation of the food. Plans for daily and weekly cleaning of the cooking and baking areas and of all the large equipment under the cook's care. Cleans and keeps the storeroom and walk-in refrigerator in order. Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen. Performs such other services as are determined necessary.
